10.28.2018 And in my mind I was a child*

Hey Now! Where am I? Oh yeah, Vegas Baby! I didn't sleep for shit. And seeing as I normally get up at 4:45 Eastern time, so I got up at 4:20 Pacific time. I shower off all the flight grunge and formulate my gamboling strategy. Here is where we stand.

RB!- 6937 tear points   150,894 Bconned points           Sweet Ti- 674 tear points   278 bconned points

This means that Sweet Ti needs 76 more tears to maintain Sapphire, the Uppity Blue Card  And I need 8063 more tears to maintain Emerald, the Shiny Green Card. I have decided to try and do both. I realize that in order for me to accomplish this, almost all the play on my card must be playing slots. Playing VP would be damn near impossible. Slots- 5. = 1 tear point. VP- " you are screwed". Added to the fun are the new rules on the previously known as slot points. They are now BConned points. Slots- 1. = 1 bconned. VP-  2. = 1 bconned. But wait- there's more. As a Sapphire, the Uppity Blue card holder, before you got 2x slot points. Not anymore. As an Emerald, the Shiny Green card holder, before you got 3x slot points. Again, not anymore. So while playing VP, Ti is getting  4 times fewer bconned points and I get 6 times fewer. People, that really adds up. The good news is that a couple of the other local Boyds are running 11x bconned point days while I'm here. Plus all the locals are now running 11x on Young at Heart Wednesdays. Get it while you can.

I am unpacking and find a nice surprise.

3 lovely cards from my Sweet Ti

I have left various notes strewn about our house. Plus I dropped a Halloween card in the mail. Time to decorate the room.

I call Sweet Ti to let her know I arrived in one piece. She is dutifully at work. She tells me it's time for me to go to work too. Will do.   First stop is the kiosk to check our scores. Everything appears to be copasetic. I insert coin in a Triple Double RWB 1. 5 line for me and a DouDiaDelux 1. 1 line 2 credit for S.T. Engage.

                                                                  a fair start

It's time to take care of business. I got a killer deal from Budget on a mid sized car. I have had problems using them before, but this one I couldn't pass up. $169. out the door for 9 days. Plus it's literally just across the street from the Orleans. I artfully avoid becoming roadkill jaywalking across Tropicanna. Today's local, Raul clerks for me. Turns out that he is a fellow fly fisher. So we talk fur, feathers, and fins as he is writing me up. Raul says they just stocked trout in the lake at Sunset Park. I will let Ziggy know. He gives me a Hyundai Elantra. She shall be named the Silver Bullet. For I soon find out that if I give her enough gas to get her out of ECO mode, she will actually get up and go.

                                                                yeoseong Bullet

I make a couple of stops for room supplies. I don't need bottled water, the fridge comes well stocked, and I can always get more from the maids. I can use points at the Costal Liquor store for Beck's NA, sodas and snacks. 10% discount too. So there's not a whole lot I need. Walgreen's is just up the street, and I grab various sundries and park Da Bullet in the newly expanded VIP area on the 3rd floor. They need the space for all of the players that will suddenly make Emerald thanks to how "Easy" they have made it. Right.

As a matter of fact, it became a reoccurring theme during my travels to various Boyd's props. Stay tuned. I have with a nice rolling cooler courtesy of Resorts Casino that I put to good use herewith.

                                                                  only 3k in losses!!!

Not only did I fit my sundries inside, but I stopped at Orleans' Liquor for NA and soda and Subway for lunch. And it all fit nicely. I made my way aloft as it was just after 10 a.m. Maybe just by chance the Skins game????? YES!!! So I put on all 4 TVs.

I talk to Randy. He invites me over for Bacon Butties. But they are staying in a condo over near Koval and Harmon. I pass, and invite them over instead. Maybe. We do have a WSMFP show this evening. After the quite enjoyable game I adjourn to the Higher Limit Room.

I did notice they finally put in this Top Dollar Premium... Jim??

                                                             Didn't even push!

Today is gift day here at the Orleans. They are giving out these half zip sweaters. But first you have to stop by the kiosk and print out a voucher. They have upgraded the kiosks, which is good because they used to take forever to print. But there aren't enough kiosks. And the lines are ridiculous. I refuse to wait for 30 people. Especially since I notice they aren't any faster. There are 5 kiosks near the sportsbook, but they are only to check balances and to play the football contest. BConned needs to do something about this issue. The crowds are getting restless. I guess I just can't be here too long and not play some sort of Buffalo machine.

                                                                                                              much better

I meander around a bit and notice there's a tech at the sportsbook kiosk. He has done some kind of mojo to these kiosks so they will print vouchers. Sweet. I get in line and right away hit it off with a really nice Cali. lady. Angela from Ontario, CA. She points out her hubby Todd over the way. Turns out they are spot on our age. We have a lot in common. They are here to hangout with REO Speedwagon. Anglea invites me to the show, but I have Widespread Plans. The kiosk tech has fixed us up, and we all walk over to the BConned Desk.

                                                           " they run small "

I take a break upstairs to call Sweet Ti and eat the other half of my sandwich. She is winding down her weekend. I am just starting.

                                                               soooo cloooossseee....

If y'all had the sound on you could hear the guys next to me in the background. I'm still not sure what was going on, but the dude defiantly did not want me to touch his machine. I wasn't about to. Dude was big and well into his cups. Cashed out that small win.

                                                                       Profitable

Back to Higher Limit I watch a guy hit for 1k on the 5. WoF and try in vain to take a selfie. It isn't going well. I finally bail him out by offering to take it for him. He leaves with his bounty and I take his place. I'm going to try the Scott Roeben patented Vital Vegas WoF 5. Method. Scott inserts $40. and tries 4 spins, 10. a spin. If he doesn't hit, he moves on. I insert 40. and get a couple of small hits. I didn't take any pics on account of a security guard who was right beside me. I am joined by a really nice couple. She sits next to me and he stands. They are from Romania, but live in Henderson. Just here for a free buffet, and a bit of gamboling. She inserts 20. and spins, realizing it's a 5. machine, 2 credit max bet. She usually plays lower denom. But on her next spin she hits for 250. We all cheer. Hubby says it's my turn, and I hit for a push. More cheers. Her turn, and she hits for 500. Extended cheers. My turn, nada. I'm done. She cashes out and they decide to leave with a win. I finish up out of credits. Well Scott, at least it usually works for you at 4Queens. Not here for me. Right about now it's time for me to get ready for a Widespread Evening.

20th floor. All suites, all the time.

Even though I have the Silver Bullet safely ensconced herewith, I decide to journey into the land of the proverbial Ride Share. I dutifully download Guber and Lyfty and sign up. I recieve one free ride from Guber, and 5. off 3 rides from Lyfty. I get ready and hoof it up to the front of the casino to the pick up area. I dial up mu Guber free ride. Alexander is there in no time. I must say, this is nice. There is a GK Hockey game going on. Parking isn't even available at the NYNY self park. Alex has me in front of the TMobile Arena in no time.

                                                                       Da Park

Hey Now! It's the 3rd period. It's tied. OT baby! Only Vegas would put an enormous screen just out front of the actual rink. There's maybe 40 people watching the game. The Knights won in overtime by the way. I have to TCB before the show. I have 2- 25. Free play thingies from MyVegoose to redeem. One at NYNY and one at ParkMGM.

                                    IMG_1032.jpg (2115557 bytes)         IMG_1033.jpg (2346087 bytes)

everywhere you look gold and black

I descend amongst the Big Apple masses and make my way to the MLifer desk. It takes all of 2 minutes to get the freeplay and hit the nearest Top Dollar. These MLifer peoples are sneaky. You have to put real duckies into the machine to use the freeplay. Diabolical. Of course what happens is that I lose the freeplay along with the seed duckies. Time to boogie next door.

                                                          IMG_1034.jpg (2368015 bytes)

                                                                    Bliss Dance

Hey Now! The Park is beautiful at night. The only problem I see is the competition for volume. There's a beer trailer set up blasting out a mash up of Motown and Hip Hip facing a country music bar blasting Nashville. I can't even imagine being able to order a drink at either place. Not that I would. I cross the street and enter the newly minted ParkMGM. Sweet Ti and I were here exactly a year ago for this same show. The re-construction was already underway and continues. The MLifer Desk is in easy sight, and I get this casino's freeplay loaded quickly. Time for some Bier Haus 20,000.

                                                    IMG_1035.jpg (2651908 bytes)

                                                          Take that MLifer

I'm still a bit too early for the show so I work my way thru the crowds. Just about everyone is in costume. Tonight is the official Widespread Celebration on Halloween. I am soon approached by Dan the Splittin' Hippie. Dan swears we have met before. I ask if he happened to be at FSE about a year and a half ago in May. He doesn't think so. I remember meeting a Hippie then.

                                                   IMG_3077.JPG (502324 bytes)

                                                     Not Dan the Splittin' Hippie

Dan needs to split. So he jumps up in the air and literally lands in a full split. "I just can't stop". Keep on Splittin', Splittin' Dan! I cash out that TITO and pocket the profits. After an interesting pitstop it's time to approach the gates. "Empty your pockets and raise your hands and walk thru the scanner". I set off the scanner. The guy holding the wand is maybe 20. Deer in the headlights. "There's something regestering on your chest". The buckles of my bibs. "There's something metal in your left hand". My wedding band. "Enjoy the show". Thanks. I am once again in the nosebleed section. That's cool, this place is beautiful. I enjoy the view of the Park as I ascend the "Excalators past the Hooters". I find my section and take advantage of the free water being offered pretty much everywhere.

                                                      Way to go Park Theater!!!

There seem to be a plethora of bib wearing dudes about. Whenever possible, I try and score a picture. Here's the first one.

                                                             Jim from Colo.

                                                           The poultry roost.

These birds were adamant. They wore their outfits the entire show and danced their feathers off.

                                                           feathers everywhere.

The show gets underway. They start out with a video. Jimmy???

So tonight's theme is the TV show Laugh-In. I actually used to watch that show. Great stage props, and Go Go Dancers!.

The second set started out epically. They covered Jethro Tull's Aqualung. Note for note. The album version. Incredible. Jim??

My favorites were Mercy and Don't fear the Reaper. The encore started out rather strange- Tiptoe Thru the Tulips. Well, it certainly is on theme. Then it proceeded to get even stranger with Drift Away. But they ended up with one of my all time favorites Ain't Life Grand. And a grand time was had by all. So many smiling faces. I smile my way to where Alex the Gubermeister let me off and dial up Jorge for a Lyftr home. But the area I was let off at is barricaded. We finally hook up and it's a quick trip home.

                                                        IMG_1061.jpg (2118298 bytes)

What a day y'all! The show was insane, and surprisingly enough, the gamboling went well. I finished the day ahead. Not by tons, but up.
