10.30.2018  Nobody ever had a dream 'round here*

Hey Now! I suppose there is an upside to keeping Eastern time. Waking up really early. I call my working Sweet Ti and give her this morning's itinerary. I don't actually do an itinerary. It's just a fun word to type. I also text our Renneee to see if she is around. Pizza for breakfast sound like a plan. Here's the deal. It's pretty cool around here. Even in the casino. And I brought mostly shorts. That's usually all I need to wear. Along with flip flops. But I only brought 1 pair of bibs. So I have to go bib shopping.

                                                                                                         "Hi Yo Silver Bullet...Away!!!"

We head east on Tropicana, over the strip and into the first available Wally World. I used to hit this particular store every trip. But I'm not seeing any bibs. I ask, they don't. Onward to the next Wally World, which is conveniently located across the street from Sam's Club.

                                 IMG_4694.JPG (1199736 bytes)            IMG_4695.JPG (1214885 bytes)

But they aren't open. Wait a minute- this is one of those Super Wallys' I didn't think they EVER closed ANYWHERE. Much less in Vegas. I finally realize that 2 of the 3 main doors are locked. They actually are open for business. So I walk down to the other end of the building. The best thing about this giant conglomerate enterprise is that all of the stores are pretty much laid out the same.

                                                                          success!!

I pilot the Bullet across Boulder Highway and into the preferred car park. #2. The Emerald, the shiny green card VIP parking area.

Yet another Boyd's joint with empty VIP parking

Today is 11x points here. Given the new BConned rules, it's a matter of take what you can get where you can get it. I think I will.

                                                                  Gotta kiosk in

I had been meaning to take kiosk screenshots all along, but kept forgetting. Sometime my notes get a bit fuzzy. Imagine that. From the looks of that last pic, I still need 5408 tears to maintain my level till the end of 2019. There are some old school slots I like here.

                                                                   Good ol' DDD

Scare up that next one Jimmy.....

                                                           zip zap, just like that

Sweet Ti calls and asks me how it's going. I am in need of a diversion. She tells me to try the Loose Deuces upstairs. I always try to do exactly as my Sweet Ti asks. She hates to watch me play this game. This way she doesn't have to.  Plus, I am trying my experiment out again. Let's see how much coin in for a tear on this particular game. 99.20%. Insert coin. .50 denom. I start out pretty good, but ended up losing without hitting quad deuces. Nearest I can figure, it takes 45.45 or so to earn a tear point on this game. That sucks. But it was a useful experiment. I earned a bunch of 11x points. Pretty much gotta do as many 11x as possible with the lousy change.

                                                            Always great photo ops here

Das Bullet rocketed us back to Orleans.

Parked right up front.                their pool is heated.

Actually the pool water temp is 82º. But in the shade there it's probably more like 52º. They usually close the pool at the end of Oct. I went up for some breakfast pizza. Best breakfast pizza anywhere in this room. Yum. Being chilled earns an extra spork.

                                                        IMG_4721.JPG (1012877 bytes)

While I'm munching at the bar, I am noticing a couple of sounds. One I'm sure is the cries of some raptor preditor. The other seems to be coming from the front door. Because of the open windows and the brisk southwest winds a vortex is being created. The wind is desperately trying to make it's way into the hall. I can adjust the pitch by slightly opening and closing the windows. Cool.

                                                           The Other One please Jim-

                                                                                                                     Not on MY turf bub!

The best that I can guess is that the peregrine falcon has it's nest over on the opposite corner from me. That's where he lands. The hawk is probably looking for small edible animals around the pool grounds. I can see there very easily being some around. I finally hit the casino floor around 9:30. I need to see Linda to to give her her toke. They are slammed, and I happen to pick up a brochure about the slot tourney I'm in. Registration is 8:00-10:00 a.m. Better haul my Hey Now ass over to Bailey's. I can guess who is manning the desk. Yep, it's none other than today's local, Eleanor. Eleanor has been working here like forever. She probably came from the Stardust like Hank Bonefish and the others. She is 85. Stands about 4Ft. nothing. She barks orders at me and goes over everything twice just to be sure. Got it Eleanor. She hands me the packet and gives me a TShirt. I thank her and tell her I'll see her later. Derrick and Eleanor run a tight ship. Apparently, unbeknownst to be, we are comprising Team Orleans. There are several other mid-west Boyd's properties sending their own teams. A couple of them are ones Boyd's just took ownership of.

So we have a session later on today. Time to gambol. I actually remembered to take a kiosk pic before starting here.

                                                    IMG_4728.JPG (1959617 bytes)

                                                       No 11x points here today.

I walked over to the tourney area and the line was pretty long. So I played over at the non smoking section between the Buffet and the side entrance. This section is very quite. They have some VP here that's playable. Right now it's all about the tears.

                                                                      push

The line was finally moving. I strike up a chat with a likely looking subject wearing a Team Kansas Star polo shirt. Hello Joe from Newton Kansas. He tells me they offered him and his wife the slot tourney package out of the blue. He just had to get here. They were enjoying the amenities. Orleans does make it awful easy to just get all of your entertainment here. We finally get our turn. I finished #6 in our group with a score of 121k. Looks like the highest scores are in the 150k range, We will see. Time to do some slotting.

                                                           Insert coin video James....

                                                              just smackin' buttons Ma'am.

                                                             Free the Herd Jimmy!!

I had my bet up to 9.75 there. I thought W4 was bad enough at 8. a spin. Dangerous game this Tall Fortune. I was playing Miss Kitty, Wild Leprechaun, Indian Dream, and Buffalo Gold. I still can't figure out how to video live play without this happening.

                                                                        Jimmy????

                                                                 plum embarrassin'!

That's probably why I have so few subscribers. I played a bunch more slots but the only screenshot I could scrounge up was this-

                                                                           weak

I played my second session for the tourney and got 117k. Again, probably not in great shape. I stop by the Liquor store and score some more Beck's NA along with a nice bottle of Moscato to take tonight. Yes my friends, I am out and about to Henderson this evening to see the Tocyzinskis. I just wish my Sweet Ti was here with. I got ready and showed Sue the GPS and the Silver Bullet the road and surprisingly for a Tuesday afternoon @ 4 p.m. it wasn't bad. The construction on the 215 around the airport is for the largest part completed. They live almost across 215 from Hidden Green Valley Ranch. We talked for a bit and Ziggy started cooking. They are both such great cooks. Zig is making grilled marinated shrimp, with a simple salad of greens drenched at the last minute with warm bacon, garlic, 'shrooms and onions along with the drippings. Wilted salad. Finish it off with a touch of cider vinegar. Riced cauliflower and wild rice.

And for dessert he made Apple pancakes with vanilla ice cream and homemade nectarine jam. And the nectarines were from their garden.

It was a lovely dinner. The salad was incredible. The shrimp were seasoned very well. Dessert was very tasty. We sat and talked for quite a long time. Their son Sebastian just recently moved from here to Hollywood Fla. Their other son Thomas already deserted the desert for there a few years ago. They all miss each other. Last year Ziggy retired, and last summer bought an RV. They spent 3 weeks this summer in Utah. I think eventually they will move to Florida. We are hoping maybe they will drive out east to spend some time with us in VA. Or at least we could meet them somewhere. I called Sweet Ti and we all bid her our love and a fond night night. Then it was time for me to go also. We made plans for dinner on Friday evening at the Prime Rib Loft. Orleans treat.

Back at the Big Easy I randomly tossed hundys into metal boxes for a bit. Enough to get the day's totals up to par. Cost earlier profits.

Totals: RB: Sam's Club- coin in: about 1600.   Tear points: 180

Orleans- coin in: 4155.    Tear points: 824

Daily total- coin in 5755.    Tear points: 1005
