11.01.2018 Standing on the cast iron shore, yeah *

Hey Now! The first thing I did when I regained consciousness was to say Rabbit. I always try to remember to say Rabbit on the first day of each month. Old superstition I suppose. On today's so called agenda is a journey Way Out West. Well, Summerlin anyway. They are offering 11x points today at Suncoast. So I called Sweet Ti and got my shit together and made my way toward the Silver Bullet. I spot today's local, Art at the security desk. He gets a great big grin on his face and says "Welcome Home." Art is from Hawaii and is about 30ish. He has been working here for 8 years now. He always has that big grin. He gives me hell for leaving Sweet Ti at home. Art is a true sweetheart that hasn't let living in Sin City jade him. The Silver Bullet zooms us west and here we are. The Emerald, the Shiny Green Card parking here has always been the biggest of any of the Boyd's Nevada props. But it's mostly empty. It's right beside the walkway too.

It's pretty much dead here. Seeing as it's 10 a.m. on a Thursday I kind of understand. I notice a sign for free buffets from earning tear points. Looks like you can earn 2 a day. Maybe I'll do lunch here. I start out trying in the Higher Limit. Let's try nickel buffalo.

                                                                    that was about it

I made a couple of hundy donations before roaming about in search of cheaper thrills. Spin it Grand provided fodder to rack up some serious tears. But no screenshots. I checked my points at the kiosk and printed out a buffet coupon. So I joined the Snow Bird set for a perfunctory meal. While I was in line, I watched this dude in front of me pull out a baggie slam full of buffet coupons. Too funny.

Absolutely nothing memorable about this buffet. Then I played a few more slots and actually pushed for a change. Where do I stand....

Time to hit the road. The traffic was really light and I flew home in short order. Inside, I ran into Hank Bonefish. He is tending the Wally Gator. He has been off on vacation doing his usual esoteric functions. Age of Chivalry Renaissance Faire. Various Vegas Vortex affairs. And of course, Halloween. But he is pissed off. The new rules around here have run off all of the locals he depends on day in and day out. I played there a bit and he went on break. So I went off to shed some more tears. Buffalo, TDRWB, Double Gold, etc.

We are back on Sweet Ti's comp again here. So I need to put some tears on her card as well as mine. So it's the Battle of the Low Rollers. I'm playing Quick Hits and Sweet Ti's card is playing Dragon Rising. I get on the board first with some free spins. James???

                                                                   I lost.

Next I went with the Battle of the Buffalos. We were neck and neck for quite a while. In the end, Orleans won. They always do.

By now I was getting a bit peckish. I used an LVA coupon for 50% off. I charged the rest to the room. I was Dana's customer.

It turns out that Dana's Grandmother lives in Suffolk VA. She spent her summers growing up in VA. We knew many of the same places. I tipped her 200% of the bill. Nice kid. They did a major renovation of the buffet recently. The seating area used to be open and is now broken up into smaller areas. I kept forgetting where my table was. But it looks nice. Too bad they didn't save some duckies to use on the food. It's pretty much the same fare. Good variety of mediocre food. After a smattering of this and that I'm done. I played some random 3 reels in the no smoking area nearby but everything I tried was set on vacuum mode. I'm done feeding hundys into slot machines for today. Damn the tears. I am not willing to put any more of the ol' BR at risk today. There's always tomorrow.
